Is your device a Handheld Argon only?

Your device will need to be shipped to GED, Glenwillow, OH. Our calibration lab in the US is capable of calibrating the Handheld Argon devices. Please contact our calibration lab at 440-600-8534 or email Sparklike@gedusa.com.

Is your device a Handheld Argon/Krypton or Laser Portable 2.0 or 2.1?

Currently, these devices will need to be shipped to Finland for the calibration service. Please fill in the information at this link before shipping your device: https://sparklike.com/en/order-calibration/

Ship your device using any freight forwarder of your choice. Sparklike’s recommended forwarded is DHL, but UPS and FedEx work well too.

Using the shipment tools of any courier company is very straightforward. The online form helps complete the necessary information. Note: customs HS code for all Sparklike devices is 9027.10.10 (or 9027.10.20) “a gas analysis apparatus”. The value for the shipment is up to the customer as well. Most customers use 5-10k€ for Handhelds and 15-30k€ for Laser devices.

When handling devices with batteries included, it’s important to note the regulations of IATA. When battery packs are smaller than 100 Wh, they are exempt from any warning labels or special handling when done properly. The first thing to note is that the battery must be within the device, not packed with the device (it must be plugged in and physically inside HH or LP, not loose alongside the device).

Laser Portable:

  • Hazardous identification: No hazardous materials
  • Power Source: 97 Wh internal battery (x2 for LP2.1)

Handheld Argon/Krypton

  •  Hazardous identification: No hazardous materials
  • Power Source: 27 Wh internal battery

When calibration is complete, Sparklike will send the device back to its owner. Sparklike will use the same value for shipment as originally used. This is so the temporary import handlings within Finnish Customs can be closed. The customer is responsible for paying customs duties and taxes when importing their own device back to their factory. To prevent any holds, please research “temporary export” procedures with the help of courier companies and customs within your own respective country.
